I have reluctantly decided to create this website and blog. I have no interest in publicity, especially for its own sake, but I increasingly need some kind of online presence where I can share overviews of the applications and websites I am working on; project and research updates; and informal thoughts about what is top of mind. This site will serve as both my digital portfolio and also a place to sketch out some ideas that may become something more.
Functions and Folios?
I work with lots of code (functions) and many older printed texts (folios).
Digital Portfolio
I expect to talk about the web applications and MacOS desktop applications I am developing. I also like to present data and data analytics connected to the work I do, in history and digital humanities.
Informal Thoughts
There is a huge gap between writing a formal journal article or book chapter and having nothing to say whatsoever. If I am forced to write some informal thoughts online - with no pressure or worries about finality - then I am better able to bridge that gap.
That's enough of an introduction.
